Biography
A life lived in fear is only a half lived life..." because of this saying, Ricardo Lusco aka Wild Card "Da Man" of NovaKane has gone more than out of his own way to sacrifice for this upcoming group of super producers.
Starting on just a karaoke machine, with two MICs and a keyboard, Wild Card was yet to know how much music was going to play an influence in his life--and not only that, but how it was going to help him impact many others as well.
At just a young age Ricardo began to sing and dance entertaining young girls with his best friend Cortez Hampton after school while attending a local daycare. As he got older, his voice naturally began to change. This caused Ricardo to reconsider his pursuit in music, he then turned to rap and met up with Devin "Grave Digga" Minor, a childhood friend who he had attended school & was also best friends with. They formed a rap duo known as the "ThundaKatz" which eventually led to an even bigger group which became "The Movement".
They then stepped up from karaoke to computer recording. But Ricardo was beginning to lose his interest in rapping and became more interested in the behind the scenes of the music industry and producing.
"I still remember making my first sequenced beat(s) over at my older brother's apartment, i think i was using Fruity Loops 3 or some sh*t like that," says Wild Card. "I've tried other things and I've gotten real familiar with all other types of professional tools used in the industry, but at the end of the day that's been what I stuck with." People still this day don't believe that Ricardo brings the heat that he does using just FL Studio. "It's all in how you use it, and what you familiar & comfortable with, it don't really matter what you use, piff is piff [laughs]!"
Wild Card and GD separated when they left junior high and attended different high schools. While playing football and basketball for school, Ricardok met Chaz "Yung Tunez" Bacon aka Da Philly Goon. They quickly became good friends because of the chemistry they shared on the b-ball court & football field. Stephon "Da Force" Bradley was already best friends with Yung Tunez. They both became curious of the productions they would hear from Lil' Rick when he brought his beats on burned cd's to school.
"I used to burn tracks on a cd and just take em' around for people to hear, and was like this is me and my nigga GD," says Wild Card while flipping through a stack of hundreds & twenties. "They used to ask me: "When we coming out yo way bruh?" I lived across town from them, and back then i was always with some older girl or some sh*t, so hangin' out with them wasn't my main priority at the time."
Wild Card explains eventually Tunez and Da Force set foot in his crib, and after a couple of visits, Rick handed them each a copy of FL Studio and showed them some of his skills on the beat game.
Just a few years have passed now, and NovaKane is starting to put their name on the map. Having produced several tracks for local artist such as K.O. Da Don, T-Redd, Bonanza Pizzaz Phresh, Blood Money Gang, YC, Da Movement, and many more...And currently they are getting attention from major & indie labels, they mentioned if the right deal comes across the table they will consider hoping on it.
