What Made Yung Mims Start Rapping?

Brandon Mims A.K.A Yung Mims was born in Akron, Ohio. He started rapping at the age of 7 influenced by Tupac, Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, and older brother Crisis. Brandon started making beats at the age of eleven on a computer program called Fl Studio. He never realized how hard it was to get a major deal until he was about 12 years old when he started trying to get accepted into many major or indie labels.

Personal Life

When Brandon was young his father left him and his mother Chaunte Avent and his two older brothers Chris Avent, and Stephen Mims alone. His father wasn’t always gone, he comes back get his self together and go right back to doing drugs. But today he’s off the drugs and is a working man now. Brandon attended Perkins Middle School at the age of 11-14 grades 6-8. His mother was working two jobs one full time the other part time. She quit her part time job because he and his two older brothers started messing up in school. Yung Mims was always the one never noticed. He was always the catfish compared to the sharks swimming at the top of the sea.

Rapping In Akron

Before Yung Mims was hot he and cousins/ Brothers had a rap group called the head bangers. The head Bangers was a good group for there age. Brandon was 8 years old while being in that group. The head bangers stop making tracks and everyone moved on. About two years later Yung Mims joined L.R.E with older brother (Crisis), Spect, And D-Shy. Brandon only made one song with L.R.E. and drooped out because he was too young. After a while Brandon joined a group called J.S.P with friend Ill Will, And Young Greer. It was only us three at first till everyone joined and played the group out. So Brandon quit that group because they didn’t want to do anything with there rapping and never wanted to make albums. So after Brandon realized that he wasn’t a good group artist he became a solo artist. He writes his own songs, make most of his beats, and pay for his own studio time.



Life Outside Of Rapping

If Brandon wasn’t doing anything concerned with music he was either at school, playing baseball, basketball, wrestling, or drawing. Brandon love to do every single one of these hobbies 247. Brandon attended wrestling, and base ball in the 8th grade. And basketball in the third. He started drawing in the 2nd grade all from art class. Brandon still loves every one of his hobbies most of all his music. He lives to his potential and would never forget his dreams. His favorite model is P.U.S.H and that means Pray until Something Happens.

Im struggling so hard trying on my own because no one take my music seriously. I've already applied in different music contest and no one or nothing accepted me.
