The DBoyz consist of two young, dedicated, and talented R&B singers of Raleigh, North Carolina. Donovan Whitaker, 14, and Demetri Vinson, 12, are the vocalist of this R&B Music Group. They have been together as a group since 2003/04. They hope to continue their music career and hope that it takes them to higher levels in the music industry.

It all started when Demetri moved to the neighborhood that Donovan lived in. About a month later, they started to become friends and discussed what they liked to do. They both had the same interest in music and it became all that they talked about. All of a sudden, they started to make beats with Garageband and write lyrics all of the time. No one knew that we could sing the way that we do and no one knew that we had such a strong interest in music. Over the years, they continued to explore new ideas in the music industry and their love for music continued to grow. They would put on mini concerts at their house with the music that they produced!

It wasn’t until late 2007 when they really became serious about their music career. One day, they decided to remake the song Suffocate by J.Holiday because they were bored and had nothing else to do. They showed the song to their parents and they just went crazy! They loved it! The next day, they showed the song to all of their co-workers and family members who also enjoyed the song!!!

At the beginning of 2008, they decided to audition for the CIAA and made it to the Top 15. It was great because it was their first audition for anything and they were competing against singers who already were introduced into the music world. Later, in February 2008, they decided to audition for the MEAC in Raleigh, NC. They got a call back one afternoon and were chosen to perform at the MEAC Halftime in March 2008. Now, the DBoyz plan to continue their career and hope that it takes them farther!
